Do you want to have ushers, and who will they be?
Recently, it has become common to use groomsmen as ushers. For one, they all often have tuxes on and are therefore easily identifiable. But you don’t need to use your groomsmen to escort people to their seats. And you don’t need your ushers to be in tuxes, either. You want to use people, either men or women, who are gregarious, friendly and excited to be walking people to their seats at your wedding.
- Belong to a sorority or a fraternity? Get your sisters and brothers to do the pretty.
- Remember the people on your dorm floor who met your family back in college? Escorts Service Pakistan They know your whole family and your best friends who visited!
- How about your cousins? They certainly know everyone in the family. And they’ve been hearing about your friends for years.
- Do you have a close work group? Or Book Group? Spin class?
Or consider combining the crowd one of these and one of those. Seat your ushers together at the rehearsal dinner and get them talking. Give them some questions to ask one another about the family so that they can help one another figure out who’s who and what’s going on.
What you want your ushers to do is to set the mood for the wedding ceremony. All these wonderful people are coming here to watch you get married to your beloved. They are excited to listen to your wedding vows; they are excited knowing that you’re starting your marriage. So let your ushers set the scene. Let them be joyous and welcoming. Let them seat people together and tuck people into the empty spots next to people who will talk to them. Put a pretty flower on their lapel so people know who can help them and let them become your goodwill ambassadors.
