Florida Gators coach Will Muschamp was making the rounds this week in Bristol as Southeastern Conference coaches made the rounds at ESPN Networks.

He took a few minutes to discuss the upcoming season with Chris Fowler during a SportsCenter segment and here are a few highlights.

Q: Six losses last season, how does that make you feel going into this season?

WM: “Hungry. Hungry for our football team. Our players have worked extremely hard through our offseason program and into spring practice. I’m really excited about the foundation that we’ve built. We didn’t get the results that we wanted in our first year certainly and I understand the expectations to go to Atlanta and play for a championship for the University of Florida. I’m excited about the foundation where our team is at this point.”

Q: What are the expectations for this season?

WM: “Again, our expectation every year is to go to Atlanta and play for a championship but we are 15-11 the last two years at the University of Florida so I’m not asking for anybody to be patient. Let’s be realistic where we are. The two blemishes on our roster last year were the quarterback position, our offensive line and defensive line. … When we lost John Brantley, our senior quarterback, in the fifth game of the year confidence on our offense went out the door.”

Q: You have two very talented, some would say very similar quarterbacks that you are splitting reps with evenly as you try to name a starter. Where does that position stand right now?

WM: “We can win with both guys. Both Jeff [Driskel] and Jacoby [Brissett] are outstanding quarterbacks and have the intangibles to be successful. They have the skill set which is very similar so we aren’t prepping two offenses. I’m really excited about Brent Pease on the offensive side of the ball and what he brings to the table for both young men. I would like to name a starter but we are going to wait and do what it takes to win football games at Florida.”
