Dyer: The Tebow We Know Wouldn’t Ask For A Trade
Green Lantern: Even If True, Tebow Trade Story Reeks Of A Media Agenda
My take about this Gary Myers article about Tebow wanting to be traded if he doesn’t become the starter this year: Tim knew he was unwanted in Denver last year, both before he was the starter and after. Before he became the starter-and was frustratingly and humiliatingly riding the bench-he didn’t ask for a trade. After they were beaten by the Pats in the playoffs, even though he knew Elway & Fox still didn’t want him, he never asked for a trade. He didn’t ask for a trade when he saw Elway & Fox on tv giving Peyton Manning the royal treatment. He didn’t ask for a trade when Peyton signed with the Broncos, suggesting that he might have even been willing to simply sit behind Peyton & learn from one of the best. So now, after ONE game, we’re to believe that he’s whining about wanting to be traded at the end of the year unless he can kick his friend Mark to the curb & become the Jets’ starter? Does that sound like Tim?
What puzzles me is who’s the anonymous source and how did this entire subject come about? My guess is that Myers was either simply fishing for clicks, came up with this idea on his own, & then called enough of his Jets sources to get a good quote he could use in the article to make it sound legit. OR he was talking with/interviewing someone with the Jets and asked that person ‘What do you think will happen if Tebow doesn’t get to start?’. And that Jets guy gave him those quotes and he ran with them. If it’s more than that, there’s something seriously wrong that we know nothing about.
