Former University of Florida football and track standout Jeff Demps, who earned a silver medal as part of the United States’ 4 x 100-meter relay team at the London Olympics, is leaving open the possibility of an NFL career, NFL.com reported Tuesday. Demps, who played high-school football at Groveland South Lake, has signed a standard representation agreement. He was not selected in the NFL Draft in April after telling teams he would concentrate on track. Demps rushed 98 times for 569 yards, a 5.8 yard-per-carry average, and six touchdowns as a senior with the Gators.
