Freshman Jeff Driskel seems in line to get his first career start tomorrow as No. 17 Florida travels to No. 1 LSU. That’s quite a daunting challenge, but Driskel’s high school coach said the former Oviedo Hagerty standout is eager to show he’s better than his first few appearances.
Hagerty coach Nate Gierke was on Open Mike this morning with Sentinel columnist Mike Bianchi to talk about Driskel. Among the noteworthy things he said was that Driskel’s ankle sprain was pretty painful following Saturday’s loss to Alabama. Florida coach Will Muschamp mentioned that Driskel sprained it in the game but said he was fine.
Gierke also discussed how Driskel can handle the pressure of the environment and Driskel staying committed to Florida after Urban Meyer’s resignation.
