Gators baseball team ranked No. 1 in Baseball America Preseason Poll

Coming off a 47-17 season and returning most of their starters, the Gators enter the season at No. 1 in the Baseball America Preseason Poll. Florida returns 22 letterwinners, including eight position starters, 11 pitchers and five freshmen All-Americans. The Gators won the SEC regular-season title last year.
Florida has ranked No. 1 14 times by four different polls.
The Gators open the season Feb. 18 with a home series against USF.
Three other SEC teams are ranked in Baseball America’s top 25. Vanderbilt is fourth, defending national champion South Carolina is seventh and LSU is 22nd.
