Florida’s Dominique Easley was named to the Ted Hendricks Award preseason watch list Tuesday.
The award is given annually to college football’s premier defensive end and awards on-field performance as well as academics and contributions to the school.
Easley, a junior defensive tackle, recorded 37 tackles including 7.5 tackles for loss. He also had 1.5 sacks and blocked a punt during his 12 starts. He tore his ACL in the team’s 21-7 loss to Florida State in the final week of the regular season.
The Staten Island, N.J. native was named to the media and coaches preseason All-SEC third-team defensive squad.
The winner of the award will be announced on Dec. 5.
