First and foremost, we’d like to that Florida Gators fans who have been patient during the preseason while the Orlando Sentinel conducted a national search for a new beat reporter to replace Rachel George. I’m thrilled to announce Edgar Thompson, who previously covered the beat for the Palm Beach Post, is coming on board to serve as our new UF beat reporter. Thompson knows Gainesville and many key leaders at Florida. He’s excited to hit the ground running. His first day is Monday.
Current staff members Mike Bianchi, Chris Hays and Matt Murschel, along with outstanding contributor Joe Morgan, have been covering the Gators for us throughout the preseason.
